New Excerpt and 30,200

Amazing progress today. I think I wrote almost 3000 words today and made some work pushing through a lull in my novel... apparently i dont enjoy writing unless I am describing my murder victims or using my dialogue between the detectives to swear!

But whatever, I am moving on. My detectives were plowing through an older case they just connected to their current cases.

I am debating whether or not to bring in my serial killer and introduce him to my detectives.... what do you guys thing?

They retired that night a little more peacefully as A.J. found sleep really easily and Tom did what Tom does best at night.
Tom is a complicated man. At work he is a force of masculinity. He has huge biceps and chest. He tries to work out every day and dabbles in protein concoctions and steroids. He has a handful of mostly harmless sexual harassment complaints against him at the office but most of the female officers usually didn’t seem to mind the attention.
Tom didn’t need sleep so luckily for him he was both a night owl and early bird. He caught the late mouse and the early morning worm. His mornings were normal enough but his nights were freaky.
At night he patrolled the internet. With few friends and fewer prospects Tom used his time to talk to random people on the web. He was very popular in many forums. His username TomTrain popped up on many underground forums. He mostly used the interaction to sooth his lonely heart and horny body but sometimes he used it for undercover police work. Tonight was one such night.
Tom was surfing the finance forum sheets looking for his buddies who were experts at up and coming pharmaceutical stocks. His friend TheRealNash, JMZ, and FrenchFyre were all online and were talking about a new drug company that they hoped would get government okay soon. The one person missing on the forum who was always there HotSunNowKnick was not online.
Tom was really hoping that HotSunNowKnick was online because for several weeks he had been following a small plastic surgery start up that had a brand new breast enhancement product and technique that somehow resulted in perfect breasts without leaving any trace. It was apparently cheaper and faster than any other technique.
It was supposed to transform the somewhat struggling plastic surgery industry. It’s final clinical trials were nearing completion and HotSunNowKnick had the inside scoop about when to buy the stock and when they were going to get clinical approval.
Tom started asking the others about what was up with HSNK? He got a variety of responses.
JMZ: Yo man I haven’t seen him around work lately. He made a killing just last week by selling off early as Apple’s shares fell but he hasn’t been into work since Friday.
FrenchFyre: I saw him on the weekend he was following up on a story about Slice & Dice. You know that plastic surgery company. He told me he had some hot stuff on it.


TheRealNash: Yeah, that’s right. His car’s been at his apartment for the entire week though. It feels like he has been traded or transferred maybe.
JMZ: No worries though TomTrain we will keep you company. Check it out Dayer is a generic drug manufacturer and they are cutting a plant in Montreal. Huge savings long term that price will be going up soon.
FrenchFyre: Yeah I like Dayer too. They just might give Bayer a run for its money a couple of years from now.

Tom watched the conversation unfold as they recommended a couple more hit companies and a couple more duds. His friends from the Scottsdale area of Toronto were pretty good about their stock picks but sometimes they missed. Tom moved on and clicked on HotSunNowKnick to see when he last logged in. Six days ago was his last log in.
Tom checked his other information. Born in 1979 in Florida, fan of candy, many brothers and sisters hated reading, favourite movie was Man of the House starring Johnaton Taylor Thomas and Chevy Chase. Weird but not unheard of. Tom clicked on his photo realizing he had no idea what HSNK looked liked.
The photo slowly popped up and Tom felt like he was waiting for porn like it was 1999 again. When the photo came into focus Tom had the red eyes that he had seen in his vic’s eyes. The image in his head startled him. His vic looked a lot like HSNK. Tom closed the image and said good night much to the chagrin of his internet surfing buddies. Seeing his victim in the photos of internet friends meant he was working too hard.
Tom brushed his teeth and fell asleep very quickly, he dreamed about the weird coincidence that HSNK was his vic. It made for a rocky night and an even rockier morning when Tom received the fax with the vic’s fingerprints match. His dream had become a reality.
