Lol Sam made me write for five hours today and it wasn't efficient and nothing really moved in my plot but it is speeding up somewhat. I am unsure of when/ how to bring about the reveal... Time will tell all I supposed. My detectives are investigating an older murder in Waterloo. And they meet resistance when they first get there.
The chat room forum guys were Phoenix Suns players...basketball
JMZ = JAred Dudley
FrenchFrye = Channing Frye
TheRealNash = Steve Nash
HotSunNowKnick = Amare Stoudemire
Anyway here's another old unedited excerpt, that I hope you enjoy!
This is more from the second body they found.... so actually before my last excerpt... dont get too confused.
A.J. looked at the victim. The victim was naked just as Joe Johnson had been. He was male with no mutilation to the genital thankfully. Outside of the eyes that had been butchered there was also the legs that had circular slices along them. The man had been bled out by the looks of it but A.J. guessed that Dr. Scheitz would tell him differently. He guessed that this man had been tortured as well.
The killer continued to leave very detailed and staged deaths but they were not that public. The previous death had stayed mostly out of the media. A.J. wondered how this made the killer feel. Did he want the publicity? Would that bring an end to this kill spree? A.J. didn’t know and these killings were disturbing him. There had been unsolved cases before. Rapes, deaths, break and enters and there was just nothing you could do about them the people disappeared or there was no evidence or motive. But this was different the killer was baiting them. He was clearly leading them down the rabbit hole.
The killer had left the baseball cards, and had cut people up to send a message. Even those eyes, A.J. suspected that those eyes would be a clue. The killer was being diligent. It made A.J. sick that people could be dying because he was unable to solve this case.
He watched as Tom took samples around the body and dusted for fingerprints. Tom was fanatical. He wanted to find this killer and probably nothing and no one would stop him. He admired and sometimes, sometimes wished he could see the world in the black and whiteness that Tom did. To Tom this was nothing more than another murder. That fact that there were now two killings just increased his resolve to catch the killer. He wasn’t concerned about future victims because Tom thought he would catch the killer before he had a chance to kill again. Ah, the simple mind of Tom Sterling.
A.J. realized that he had been standing around not doing anything for a couple of minutes which is not the best thing to be doing on a very active crime scene. He set to help Tom.
“No wallet again”
“Nope. Not unless he’s got an ass pocket.” Tom looked at the man’s buttock, “Nope, no ass pocket.”
A.J. smiled. Even with a body covered in dark sticky blood that had been knifed many times and had weird freaky eyes in front of him, Tom was still completely capable of making inappropriate jokes.
“How long do you reckon he’s been dead?” A.J. asked.
“I ain’t a fucking Doctor but I would guess less than a day. Even with the humidity blood dries pretty fast.” He showed the bottom of his boot, “And this blood wasn’t that dry.”
A.J. joked, “Must have sent that letter by courier.”
Tom looked at A.J. like he was crazy, “Probably sent it before hand. Who knows? Did you see the eyes? They look fake.”
A.J. looked carefully at the eyes. “Tiny dark red eyes. Do you think we should take them or to send them to the coroner? Would he know what they are?”
Tom looked at A.J. thoughtfully, “You think there is a message or something in one of those?”
“Baseball cards, specific body mutilation, yeah I would say it’s pretty possible. Let’s give em’ to someone in our office. We have a couple of library lackey’s who don’t do too much. The coroner is going to have his hands full determining what the killer did this time. I wonder if the body was paralyzed again. I certainly hope not.”

Totally disgusting! I like the blend of humour with the gory. Sorry I didn't recognize any of those basketball players. I hope they aren't going to die.
I feel like Tom has the Esmonde-like ability to make an inappropriate joke at any moment, and I like that. Sorry for making you write for so long, but I think it was worth it!
Keep up the great work!
Ugh. I'm disgusted by, but impressed by, the detail of the eyes. Will they be the clue to the mystery?
I also appreciated the realism of people making jokes in such a disgusting situation... you have to find some way to get through it and not just lose your mind. Or so I'm told (having never been in that situation!).
I have a feeling those basketball players are marked for death, just like that Steven Seagall (?sp) movie.
